In 1990, Mike began his financial planning career upon graduating from Belmont University. In 1999, He transitioned his planning & advisory practice to Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company and his expertise led the effort to bring comprehensive wealth management to the Nashville Northwestern Mutual Office.

Formerly Mayernick & Associates, we rebranded our boutique firm as Capital Stewardship Partners to best reflect what we do and how we serve our clients wealth management needs. We work primarily with high net worth individuals and families throughout the country in the areas of investment management, retirement income planning, estate planning, risk management, and charitable wealth strategies.

We derive a great deal of satisfaction in partnering with our clients to help them best steward the in resources according to their values, dreams, and goals.

Mike resides in Brentwood, TN. He and his wife Suzanne have 8 children: Grace, Michael, Annabelle, Milleranne, Joshua, Josie Love, Caleb, and Ana Maria. He enjoys hunting, fishing, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family. Mike and Suzanne share a passion for orphan advocacy, adoption, and speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. They frequently travel to Uganda to serve with Love One International, an organization founded by Suzanne that cares for the most vulnerable children in Uganda.

Mike has served on various Boards over the years, including Franktown Open Hearts, Financial Planning Associates of Middle Tennessee, and Strong Tower Bible Church. He is currently serving on Amazima Ministries International.

Mike has also served on various steering committees for Northwestern Mutual.

Mike recently received the Global Impact Award from Invest In Others, a foundation that recognizes and rewards financial advisors from around the country for their philanthropic work.

David has worked in the financial services industry since 2000.  Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual as a wealth management advisor in 2003, David worked as a tax consultant with Deloitte & Touche and internal auditor with Quorum Health Group.  David has an undergraduate and masters degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee.  David holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, and earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Chartered Advisor in Senior Living* (CASL®), and Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC) designations.

     *The Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL®) designation is conferred by The American College of Financial Services.

David has been licensed in FINRA Series 7, 66 and 63, and holds the Life and Health Insurance licenses.

David lives in Sylvan Park with his wife Alyson.  They are the parents of boy/girl twins - Justus and Reagan, and their dog - Harper.

When David is not working, he enjoys hiking, cycling, open water swimiming, cheering on the Vols, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Mendy has been in the financial services industry since 1983 after graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Finance, and minors in Business Administration and Psychology. Mendy first worked as a discount broker at W. N. Estes & Company before joining Morgan Keegan as a fixed income assistant. In 1996, she was approached by Mike Mayernick to join his team, and has since served as Director of Clients Services.

Mendy has been licensed in FINRA Series 7 and 63 since 1988, and obtained Life and Health Insurance licenses.

Mendy lives in Hickman, TN with her husband Tom. When she is not working, she enjoying spending time with her family and friends.

Mary has worked in financial services since 1985 as an agent with Mutual Benefit and later with Allstate.  She joined Northwestern Mutual in 1990 working with a career Financial Representative in his practice.  Later, she started working with the Pruett network office, which led her in 1997 to become Investment Operations Manager.  In 2004, she joined Mayernick & Associates.

Mary has a B.S. degree from Tennessee Tech in Business Management, holds a FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, and Life and Health Insurance licenses.

Mary lives in Hendersonville with her husband, Don.  She is active in church activities, and she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

 
John C Robus

John C Robus, CFA®

Research Analyst

John comes to Capital Stewardship Partners with an extensive background in the financial industry. Prior to his transition, he was an Investment Analyst at LifeWay Christian Resources and oversaw the pension, 401(k), and other corporate assets. Before Lifeway, John spent several years trading small-cap stocks for Mindshare Capital Management & Missouri Valley Partners in St. Louis, Missouri. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Union University in Finance. He then proceeded to Saint Louis University where he received his Masters in Finance.

John has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and his FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.

John lives in Hendersonville with his wife, Leslie, and 3 children, Kelsey, Ellie, and Zachary. He is an active member of Redeemer Church, where he teaches Sunday School and serves as the Deacon of Finance. His favorite part of the day is spending time with his friends and family. He enjoys being involved with his kids sports and other activities and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

 
James M Casanova

Financial Planning Analyst

Prior to joining Capital Stewardship Partners, James worked for The Vanguard Group as an Investment Consultant where he interacted with clients and financial markets daily.  He also spent time working at a Morgan Stanley branch office.  He graduated in 2017 with a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia and continues to pursue additional financial industry education opportunities.

James has been licensed in FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66, and has obtained Life and Health Insurance licences.

James lives in the Nashville area.  He is a mentor within the UGA Mentor Program, which is a program designed to connect current UGA students with alumni for the purpose of supporting students in their professional development.  When James is not in the office, you can find him enjoying a round on the golf course and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
